Day 21: If you died tomorrow, what’s one thing you’d regret not doing?

This week has been a crazy roller coaster ride.  Our agency accommodated a lot of visitors that are too much to handle for a week.  And that left me with no more energy at the end of the day.  No more energy to blog and update the challenge that I've committed to finish.  Well, I've been so determined to finish this challenge even though I haven't managed to do it daily.

Let me start my Day 21 with these photos.

If I'll die tomorrow,  one thing that will make me regret is not being able to materialize what I've always wanted and dreamed of for my mom and my grandmom.  I've always wanted to renovate our home for them and provide them the comfort they both deserved. Sadly, my grandmom died before I was able to realize this simple dream I have for them. And even now, I still haven't materialized these plans.

And now here goes my restless mind, there are so many thoughts running inside my head, thoughts on how to have that income that I desire.  But I know deep inside, that the main problem is money management and not the income. Maybe I'm just so stressed with work lately and add up the financial problems. I really wanted to get out of debt.

I'm still at work now. Seriously. We're having a meeting with our counterparts in the community.  And later, we will be participating in the Earth Hour Celebration at Magsaysay Park.  We will be releasing Sky Lanterns while everybody switches off their lights at their homes or offices.  I'm excited for this one, I think this would be cool and exciting!
How about you?  If you died tomorrow, what’s one thing you’d regret not doing? Hit the comment button and share! :)

Day 20: What are the 10 most significant events in your life?

I've been so dead tired since Friday and I've missed blogging for three nights already.  I really haven't opened our PC since that night I arrived from work.  I was so tired that I even fell asleep without changing into my sleeping wear. My husband woke me up around 10 in the evening telling me to change so that I can sleep comfortably. (Thank you ga!)

So for my 20th day, here are the 10 most significant events in my life.

  1. The day I moved to Davao, and I can still remember the exact date... July 23, 2006.  It will be my sixth year anniversary on July this year.  And yes, I survived independence!
  2. I can't remember the date, but I can remember the first blogging event (Thanks to Tina for inviting me!) where I met Ate Rhodilee.  And because of this meeting, I also got the chance to meet Ate Vina :)
  3. The last days I've spent with my lola before she bid goodbye.  That was one heartbreaking event which made me realize that life is too short to be wasted.
  4. My 18th birthday.
  5. My Waffle Time days.
  6. The day I joined National Nutrition Council XI.
  7. My father's death.
  8. My night shift job as a Web Article Writer.
  9. Presidency at Rotaract Club of Munting Pag-Asa Davao.
  10. Our church wedding. This is the most significant one wherein I've realized that I've been trying so hard to please others. Now, I have to start forgiving myself and move on to love myself more.
These are the 10 most significant events in my life. :) How about yours? :)

Day 19: What is your goal in life?

It's my 19th day already and I'm so proud of myself! :) So, let's go to today's topic: What is my goal in life?

Let me define the word 'goal' first before I'll blog about my answer.  According to, GOAL is . . . . . .

the result or achievement toward which effort is directed;aim; end.
the terminal point in a race.
a pole, lineor other marker by which such a point isindicated.
an area, basket, cage, or other object or structure towardor into which players of various games attempt to throw,carry, kick, hit, or drive a ball, puck, etc., to score a point orpoints.
the act of throwing, carrying, kicking, driving, etc., a ball orpuck into such an area or object.
the score made by this act.
Goal is the terminal point in a race. Life is a race, and to where I'm going is my goal in life.  For now, my goal in life is to experience motherhood and to reach financial freedom too.  Sooner or later, I know that I'll have additional goals in life.

What about you? What is your goal in life? :) Hit the comment button now!

Day 18: Whom do you admire the most?
As of the moment, I admire only one person, and that is Bo Sanchez.  His blogs, magazine and books keep me going!  Everytime I'm down and close to depression, I just open his website, his books, blogs or the Kerygma Magazine.  All of his articles and blogs and short stories give me all the inspiration that I need.

This will be just a short post for my 18th day. How about you? Whom do you admire the most? :)

Day 17: What’s something you wish you could say to someone?

Now, this is a challenge. It's my 17th day and just like during some of the earlier post, I am so dead tired now and I feel so sleepy already.  Just came home from an out of town trip for work.  There's a lot of thing that I wish I could say to someone but I just can't.  So I think, here's my chance now.

You will never ever have the chance to hurt me again.  We will succeed because we wanted to help others too.   We will make our dreams come true. We will do everything to bring to life all of what we've been aiming for.

Day 16: What do people notice about you?

This will be a very short post. I'm super tired (and it's just Monday) and my feet hurts like hell. So, let's go straight to the 16th day blogging challenge :)

What do people notice about me? Most of the time, my uber fattiness would be the talk of the town and my flawless skin. :)

Some also may notice my 'chinita' eyes. And a lot have been telling me that I look exactly like my mom. Who would dare to disagree? :)

Day 15: What do you dislike most about yourself?

Yay! It's already day 15... I'm halfway done with my thirty day blogging challenge! And this is just the opposite of yesterday's post :D

What I dislike most about myself is my uber sensitive side! As in ÜBER! Oftentimes, this side of me makes me forget that I have been through a lot, that I'm a self made woman, aggressive but loving.

I have this habit of procrastinating, and I really dislike it! But I've been fighting hard to stop it.  I'm doing my best to maximize my time, be productive, efficient and effective too.

What about you? Can you share too? Come on and hit the comment button now! :)

Day 14: What do you like most about yourself?

14th day eh? Yahooooo! :) I'm so close to the finish the first half of my thirty day blogging challenge! It's weekend, and I have one awesome guest from Bacolod City. For now, he will be spending time with new found friends through They'll go bar hopping (which is not really not my type) and have a few drinks.  I'll just be staying at home and rest because my feet sore.  I need to give them a rest so that they'll be okay for tomorrow's itinerary - Deca Wakeboard Park at Mintal, Davao City.

But before I doze off to sleep, let me finish this post first.  So, what do I like most about myself?

Madiskarte means resourceful or creative.  Whenever problems strike, there will be times that I'll be depressed for a while but after that, my resourcefulness would awaken me and eventually, lead me to possible solutions. I know that giving up is not an option and that the solution might just be somewhere around the corners of my life.

I just can't take it anymore, I need to sleep and rest. Goodbye for now! :)  Just always remember...

If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right. - Henry Ford

Day 13 : Have you ever had your heart broken? Have you ever broken a heart?

Just got home and I feel so happy after having bonded with Rotaractors from other clubs.  And I just remembered that I need to update my blog.  For today's challenge....

Yes, I've experienced being broken hearted and I also had broken a heart.  Those were the days when puppy love was at its peak and I've broken my mother's heart just to be with the 'boy' I love. I was once a hard headed spoiled brat who never listened to anybody when it comes to matters of the heart.  During my younger days, I always get what I want but eventually, I would end up having a broken heart for wrong decisions.

Now, I've come to realize that mothers really know best.  Even though I already have settled down, I would oftentimes consult my mother for some decisions.  I realized how important is my mother's role in my life.  And I'm so thankful for having such a wonderful and supportive mother.  I love you mama!

How about you? Have you ever had your heart broken too? Have you also broken a heart? Share share share! :)

Day 12: If you could wish for anything that would come true, what would you wish for?

I'm on my 12th day now and I'm so so so happy! :)

For this challenge, I'll only post pictures which would represent my greatest wish as of the moment, a wish that I've been praying for to come true. Let the pictures speak in behalf of me :)

Day 11: Who can’t you live without?

It's my 11th day! This thirty day blogging challenge seems to be so fast. I can't believe I'm already on my 11th post :)  Nineteen more posts and I'm gonna survive this challenge! :)

So, who can't I live without?

  • my one and only loving and caring husband
  • my ever supportive mother [i miss you so much Mama! I love you!]
  • my three dogs! Love them all so much!
  • my Davao close friends who never ever gave up on supporting me.
  • my one and only Maboooooi! Love you boi! :)
  • and syempre, my high school and college barkada...
  • my boss who never gets tired of supporting me
Just like Lyn's post, my list would sum up relationships with family and friends.  I just can't live without these people (and my pets too!). They are the ones who keep me sane.  They are the ones who refills my empty energy tank.

Share yours too... Who can't you live without? :)

Day 10: A dream for the future

Pay attention to your dreams - God's angels often speak directly to our hearts when we are asleep.  ~Quoted in The Angels' Little Instruction Book by Eileen Elias Freeman, 1994

I've always enjoy daydreaming. It has been a favorite past time since childhood.  Dreams for me are representation of what we've always wanted to have or to be.  Dreams oftentimes keep us motivated to move forward. They make us aim for a better and brighter tomorrow.

Our dreams for the future....

  • A child/children of our own
  • A home to be called our own
  • A marriage to last a lifetime
  • A business to sustain our needs and wants
  • Opportunities to travel around the world and also within the country
  • A foundation for the street kids
  • Financial freedom
Right now, I'm very grateful for all the blessings and graces we've been continuously receiving.  The never ending graces and guidance from the Lord keep our relationship stronger.  We pray that these dreams may someday be materialized for His greater glory.

Day 9: Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days

Time flies by so fast and now, I'm on my 9th day for my thirty day blogging challenge. It's just monday but I feel so exhausted already! I've been so busy with paper works and then our Rotaract Week Activity at the House of Hope in the afternoon. But then, I should find time for this challenge because it is my own desire to be able to finish until the 30th day :)

Hopes, dreams and plans. I have so many plans. So many hopes and prayers. So many dreams. Maybe, this post would also be my checklist so that whenever I'm down, I will come back to this post and remind myself of my hopes, dreams and plans.

For the next 365 days, my heart desires for the following:
  • a more intimate and closer relationship with God, with my husband and with my mother
  • a renewed and better me. I really pray for this one.  That I may be able to learn to forgive myself and move on from all heart aches I've been going through right now. That I will loosen up and love myself more. That I will be able to appreciate myself better.
For the next 365 days, one of my greatest dreams is to be able to conceive and experience the happiness and joy of being a mother.  This is also actually one of my husband's greatest dream, to be able to have a child of our own. :) In God's perfect time. :)

For the next 365 days, I have so many plans.  It's actually not just I.  It's ♥ US ♥.  My husband and I have plans to:
  • be able to set up and maintain a savings fund for our family's future
  • be able to set aside a portion of our income for tithes and for emergency use
  • be able to also set aside a portion of our income for pleasure and material wants and needs
  • be able to travel within the country
  • be able to acquire our own land or a house and land, might be even better
  • be able to establish a business which will help us sustain our needs and wants and help us bless our family and friends as well as others who are in need
  • be able to learn more about stocks and investments
  • be able to go home to Bacolod
  • be able to spend MORE QUALITY time with each other
  • be able to celebrate and appreciate God's love for the two of us
There are more to hope and dream for. Maybe I can come up with a second post for this topic soon.  For now, these are my hopes and my dreams...OUR hopes, dreams and plans.

Can you share yours too? :)

Day 8: What’s in my handbag/purse

I've been having a dilemma on how to go through my 8th day in this thirty day blogging challenge. Why? I don't have a handbag! I only have my big backpack which is so full of stuffs that I wanted to unclutter! So what's in my big backpack? Maybe that would be the best title... :D

Nah! It's not like that, but it would be like that soon. Imagine my bag would be so full of those? Oh my golly! I need to declutter asap.

So, what's in my bag aside from papers/trash/receipts? I also have the following:

What's in your handbag? Or justlike me, your BIG bag? :) Share share share!

Day 7: My worst habit

Good morning weekend! :) I'm starting my 7th day of my 30 day blogging challenge as early as possible and while I'm not yet too lazy to put it off later. And that is my worst habit! PROCRASTINATION.  According to

  [proh-kras-tuh-ney-shuhn, pruh] Show IPA
the act or habit of procrastinating or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention: She was smart, but her constant procrastination led her to be late with almost everyassignment.
This is my worst habit that often times I ended up doing overtime and rushing here and there. I am doing my best to end this kind of habit and start being productive.  But in a week, I should see to it that I have my ME day. A day which I can do what I want to do even just sleep and rest.  Hey, I also need a time off from working hard. :)

What about you? Come and join me and share share share! :)

Day 6: A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

For my day six, there is one particular song that makes me cry everytime I sing along with the lyrics.  I love this song and will always be the song dedicated for my lola. :)

BETTER DAYS by Dianne Reeves

Silver gray hair
Neatly combed in place
There were four generations
Of love on her face
She was so wise
No surprise passed her eyes
She's seen it all
I was a child, oh
About three or four
All day I'd ask questions
At night I'd ask more
But whenever, she never
Would ever turn me away
No, no oh woah
I'd say how can I be sure
What is right or wrong
And why does
What I want
Always take so long
Please tell me
Where does God live
And why won't
He talk to me
I'd say Grandma
What is love
Will I ever find out
Why are we so poor
What is life about
I wanna know the answers
Before I fall off to sleep
Woah ho woah ho
She saw the smile
As she tucked me in
Then she pulled up that
Old rockin' chair once again
But tonight she was
Slightly, remarkably
Different somehow
Slowly she rocked
Lookin' half asleep
Grandma yawned
As she stretched
Then she started to speak
What she told me
Would mould me and hold me
Together inside
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
She said all the things you ask
You will know someday
But you have got to live
In a patient way
God put us here by fate
And by fate that means
Better days
She said, child we are all
Moons in the dark of night
Ain't no mornings gonna come
Till the time is right
Can't get no better days lest
You make it through the night
You gotta make it
Through the night
Yes you do
You can't get to no
Better days
Unless you make it
Through the night (baby)
Oh ho, you will see
Those better days
But you gotta be patient
Be patient, oh baby
Be patient
Later that year at
The turn of spring
Heaven sent angels down
And gave Grandma her wings
Now, she's flyin'
And slidin', and glidin'
In better days
And although
I'm all grown up
I still get confused
I stumble through the dark
Getting bumped and bruised
When night gets in my way
I could still hear
My Grandma say
I can hear her say
I can hear her sayin'
You can't get to no
Better days
Unless you make it
Through the night (baby)
Oh ho, you will see
Those better days
But you gotta be patient
Child, do you hear me, yeah
Well, well, well, well
You can't get to no, no
Better days
Unless you make it
You got to make it
You got to make it
Through the night
Oh Grandma, oh Grandma
Do you see me now, lady
Oh oh oh oh oh
Tender replies

Me during childhood days with my lola :)

This song makes me remember how loving and caring my lola is. I know she's happy right now and she's watching over us. I ♥ you so much lola! Thank you for everything! I miss you! :)

How about you? What song makes you cry? Come and join the thirty day blogging challenge and share share share! :)

Day 5: Your dream house

Before deciding what to post here, I asked my dear husband what would be his dream house for our family.  He said he wanted a mansion! WHOA! :) So I told him to sit down next to me and join me browse for photos of beautiful houses here in the web.  I remembered once visiting the website of Kisanlu Lands,  (I'm not in any ways connected with this real estate company, I just like the designs of their houses.)  so, I revisited their site again and showed the photos of the houses in one of their developed subdivisions here in Davao City. We've come up with this common favorite....

Photo owned by

This is a Japanese inspired house, simple yet elegant. One day, we will have our own house, and we will make it a little similar to this one.  And our dream house will never be called a dream house if it's not filled with love and respect.  Maybe the right and perfect term for it is DREAM HOME :)

This is my fifth day for my thirty day blogging challenge. How about you? What's your dream home? Share share share! :)

Day 4: Something you are OCD about

Here goes my 4th day.  I hope this thirty day blogging challenge will help me turn blogging into a habit rather than just a need to comply.

So the topic is about something which I'm OCD about. OCD? Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, let's look up the definition from
Obsessive compulsive disorder, or OCD, is an anxiety disorder that can be debilitating if left untreated. A person with obsessive compulsive disorder cannot control their fearful or worrisome thoughts and behaviors. A common symptom of obsessive compulsive disorder is repetitive behavior. For instance, a person with obsessive compulsive disorder might fear becoming sick, so he washes his hands
compulsively 50 times in a row before eating. Or, a person with obsessive compulsive disorder might have to perform an activity a certain number of times. For instance, someone with obsessive compulsive disorder might have to go back and check that the door is locked three times before leaving the house. Obsessive compulsive disorder is relatively common, and treatment options include medication and behavioral therapy aimed at controlling obsessive thoughts and behaviors. If you think that you have OCD, you should call a doctor to discuss treatment options.
Hmmm. There are a few things  I'm O.C. about. I'm  Let me list them down.

  • Just like Lyn-lyn, I also don't want other people to touch my things no matter how messy they are.  I know where to find what I'm looking for no matter how cluttered and disorganized my files are.
  • I'm so O.C. when it comes to using long sized bond paper.  Here in the Philippines, our long/legal sized bond paper's measurement is 8.5" x 13" and not 8.5" x 14". Out of my OCiness,  I recently found out that the previous measurement is for the Officio II when using a Kyocera photocopier.
  • I'm also O.C. when it comes to formatting both in M.S. Word and M.S. Excel.
  • Before printing anything, I always not only double check but triple check if I'll be printing the right stuff.
These are some of the things that I can think for now. My mind is too tired and lazy to think because I still have pending work that I've brought home.  I still have out-of-town travel tomorrow for the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program (GPP) of the Department of Agriculture.  I've been tasked by the office to be the representative of our agency.  I'll be one of the evaluators tomorrow.  I'll be travelling to the Municipality of Matanao, Davao del Sur and then to Toril District just within Davao City's vicinity.  So byebye for now. Will be waiting for you to share about Day 4's topic.  Share share share! :)

Day 3: A photo taken over 10 years ago of you

Worked overtime today and I just came home a few minutes ago. It's quarter to nine in the evening and I'm about to start my third day of my thirty day blogging challenge.  It looks like I will be posting the one and only photo I know is more than ten years of age.

This photo was taken during our high school years and I can't even remember what year was this taken. But I'm really sure that this photo is more than a decade ago. Our batch graduated from high school on the millennium year, 2000.  This photo was probably taken in the year 1998 or 1999. I don't have the higher resolution copy of this photo, so please pardon me if this might seem to be a bit blurry.

We've been friends for more than a decade already.  We're all separated by distance but we still communicate always.  Thanks to Facebook! We're still updated with each other's life. I actually have so many photos but I left them all at home.  I have here my photos during my 18th birthday but don't have time to scan and post. Maybe soon.

How about you? Do you have any photo that was taken over ten years ago? Share share share! :)

Day 2: 20 of my favorite things

This is one tough topic.  Just like Lyn-lyn, I have been thinking since last night of what to write (er, type?) for this 2nd challenge. I've been thinking about categorizing the topic into 'living things' and 'non-living things' :))

Oh well, I just need to go through this so I can rest and sleep early because I wanted to go to work on time starting tomorrow.  I really mean it.  :)) No more tardiness starting tomorrow Jireh! :D

Here's the list of TWENTY of my FAVORITE THINGS :)
